G bentonite
G bentonite is used in geotechnical engineering to make sealing barriers. It has a good anti-filtration performance and a high content of montmorillonite.
It is characterised by very good water absorption so it is subject to swelling. This makes it a common component of bentonite mats. To make them, a layer of bentonite granulate is placed between a fabric and a polypropylene fabric. Bentonite mats are used for constructing flood embankments, reservoirs and earth barriers, canals, railway subgrades and other structures.
